GREENE AS PRESIDENT Resolutions adopting adequate appropriation and improvement upon the furthering oi the city's boulevard system were passed at a meeting of the park board Friday night. It was decided by the board to extend the boulevard on .St. Louis St.. from outh Rend av. to Corby st. This will add to the boulevard system and will enable better connections to be made with the other streets in the system. Horace L. Greene succeeded Dr. Kdwin J. Lent as president of the board at this meeting and lrvin Jackson was elected vice president. Arthur P. Perley retained the office of secretary and treasurer. Appropriations, for work in finishing Riverside drive from Marion st. to Angels av. and for finishing the work upon Lafayette av. from Riverside drive to Monroe st. were made. As soon as the weather permits the board will start the work upon St. Louis st. and will finish that, it is thought, before work on the other streets are started. It is said that Secretary A. P. Perley is slated for the office of park -superintendent this year. The Valley Poultry farm was awarded the Grand Sweepstakes prize of tire lifth annual exhibition of the South Bend Poultry and Pet Stock association Friday. It was a beautiful silver loving cup presented by Frank K. Hering. It was awarded Only after the gravest consideration and comparison of the various prize winning entries by Judge Gerge II. Xorthrup had taken the farm's exhibition as being the best in every way. The Valley Poultry farm is located in Galesburg, Mich. For the second best display, a $13 silver cup was awarded to Dr. C. YV. Johnson of Iiwton, Mich. This cup was donated by Thomas Moss. For the best display in the American class, a $13 silver c-up was awarded by the American Trust Co. and C. K. Pattee and Son. The Pattees' display was composed of several beautiful Partridge Plymouth Rocks. The $10 cup to be awarded by the poultry association for the best display in the Asiatic class was given to L. W.
