Gov. Glynn is Considering Proposition to Grant Clemency to Daniel H. Tolman, Former Money Lender.

AI.riAN Y, X. Y., Jan. 9. A new proposition for t pardon of Daniel 31. Tolman, the money lender who is serving a six months term for usury, la under consideration by Gov. Glynn. It amplifies th previous otter of Tolman and his assignees. In as much as it proposes to surrender unconditionally approximately $500,000 i nott-s embracing principal and interest, in return for the remission of the remainder of the sent' nc. Tho notes are thos; of nearly 20,000 borrowers from Tolman in this Hate. Tolman's tTm has a little more than two months to run. It !s said the new proposal, if accepted, will remove tint possibility of any future attempt to realize on the notes. (low Glynn, it is understood, has 1-n dispost-u! to favor clemency for Tolman. but has not acted because he eared some way might be found to push the claims. The persons who submitted the ir p(sition to the governor Thursday aid the jinle before whom Tolman was convicted was in favor of a pardon and also that District Attorney "Whitman would not oppose clemency.

A meeting of the directors of tho South Bond Poultry and Pet stock association was held Thursday night and a final survey made of tho premium , list for tho poultry show to bo given Feb. 2-7. This list will be placed in the ha!id3 of the printer immediately. All other arrangements for the show have been completed with the exception of the exhibiting hall. The directors expect to be able to announce this within a few days. All coops for exhibitors will ho furnished free. George H. N'orthub of Uaceville, N. Y., will make the awards by comparative judging and . score cards. Silver cups and merchandise will be offered as prizes, all being donations from South .Bend merchants.

Supt. McClibbon of the mounted police is sending a detachment to patrol the city. A leit-r from one of the leaders cf the unemployed men was read in police headquarters Thursday and every officer was Instructed to arrest the writer on siht. The letter stated that the irang is composed of S3 men who will wreak vengeance on the citizens Friday night, if work is not furnished for all before that time. Women and children are warned in the letter to remain off tho streets. Threats to barn the town are contained in the note.
