TALKS ON MAKING OF A BUSINESS MAN Honesty, Good Habits and Practical Training An Kcquireiiionts, Says Speaker.
Hurt Kelly addressed an assembly of Over 100 young men. among them high school student boys from the stores and factories of the city, at the Kelly assembly hall. Tuesday night, pointing out how they can better attain a higher business standard. During the vacation of two weeks al the school considerable time has been given to personal instructions to young men of the eonmunity. Kelly pointed out that there are certain requirements essential in a successful business man. llone-uy, good habits and a practical education, he asserted are three chief requirements. Pesides urging strict honesty in business matters he laid considerable stress on the habits of the successful man. He denounced cigaret smoking and said that a man who smoked
them would never meet with success in big business. A complete training in the present public schools he said was the fundamental bases of the good business men of the future. He pointed to the principal subjects of the schools, laying particular stress on the three old majors, "reading, writing and arithmetic." He showed the opportunity before the boy today and urged that he take advantage and closed by saying that every citizen should aid and encourage every educational institution in the state.
