PICNIC PARTY; FI ME DEAD Were Returning From a Celebration When Vagon is Hit by "The Scranton Flyer" Near Philadelphia. PHILADELPHIA. July 5. Five persons were killed and three Injured, one probably fatally, Friday night when the ".Scranton flyer" cn the Philadelphia & Heading railroad struck a wason containing a picnic party at a railroad crossing near vp.iakcrtown. Pa. The dead are: Mrs. Jennie Costello. 5 4 years, idwin Kane, three years. Kalhcrlno Costello, ten years. James Gillick, SO years. James Ikmnigan, 5 4 years. !.- injured: Francis Costello, 11 years, fractured skull and internal Injuries. Kdward Costello, four years, bruised about tho bedy and possib!o internal injuries. Frederick Costello. 11 years, bruised and possible fracture of tho skull. Mr?. Cotello and the children arc oil from Philadelphia and the two men who arc dead are from Shelley, near Quakcrlown. The party was returning in a wagon driven by Harry Yuung. a farm hand, from Hellertown Chore they had attended a Fourth of )y celebration. When news of the 'idem reached Quakertown, two automobiles were rushed to the scene. The dead and injured were found buried beneath the ruins of the wrecked wagon. MAN DROWNS. TEIIHE HAUTE, Ind., July 5. Carl Cecil, 2C, was drowned wh!l3 bathing in a reservoir here Friday in full view of his wife, who was sitting on the bank.
