Field Examiners Are Appointed For Work to Begin January 14.

William A. Dehority, chief of the state board of accounts, Tuesday announced the appointment of 100 field examiners who wiil begin their work of the examination of accounts in township, town, city, county and state offices the first week in January. The appointees in this section of the state are: Fred Dahling, Reynolds. A. R. Hardesty, Valparaiso. John W. Kurtz, Knox. F. M. Wilson, Lafayette. C. D. Sherwin, Goshen. M. S. Briscoe, Laporte. Charles H. Knapp, Auburn. John G. Davis and Amos D. Morris, Kentland. Edward Poulson, Warsaw. These appointees, who will operate under the direction of the chief accountant, will work by twos, a republican and a democrat being sent to every civic corporation where an examination is undertaken. They are td receive $lO a day and transportation one way, the compensation to be paid by the corporation for which the examination is being made and to be allowed only for such time as the examiners are actually at work. The question of distributing the examiners will probably be taken Up by the state board of accounts, composed of the chief examiner, the governor and the auditor of state.
