FAIR OAKS.

John Call and family have moved back to Fair Oaks from near Virgie. Walter McKannel’s little girl has been sick for the past week. . Isaac Kight has been sick for several days with a severe cold. Milt Gundy has several men and teams employed putting up ice. Teachers’ institute was held here Saturday at the School house. Dr. Washburn made a professional call in our town this week. Carrie" and Mattie McKay were at the county seat 'Wednesday. Al Blake and wife spent several days last week in Chicago. k Mrs. Cottingham was called to Wheatfield Saturday on account of the illness of Mrs. Dr. Fife.

Most all the boys and girls who have been away will return to spend the holidays here. Wm. Blair, who has been working near Wasseka, Minn., for several months past, has returned home. The teachers here and several pupils attended the farmers’ institute at Rensselaer Thursday. The election for road supervisor was held here Saturday and resulted in the election of'Frank Goff. Coasting and skating seems to be about the only rushing business just now. There has been such an increase in the primary room at school that it has been necessary to put in several new seats. Mr. Garritt’s pupils will have their entertainment separate from the other rooms. It will be held in the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 24th. Rev. Dunkleburger will preach again next Saturday night at the Christian church. Come everybody and hear a good sermon’; Hazel Helsell and Nancy Kessick came down from Pullman Tuesday evening and will visit here over Christmas. Mrs. Bertha Husted, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Halleck, was married in Chicago last week to Mr. John Thorn, of Joliet, 111. There will be an entertainment and Christmas tree at the M. E. church Christmas evening, Dec. 24th. Everybody invited to come and bring the children. There will be a treat for all under 14 years old in addition to the presents put on by parents and friends.
