Harp Recital Delighted Large Number of Invited Guests.
About four hundred people of this city responded to invitations sent out by Mrs. E. L. Hollingsworth for the harp recital by Miss Alice Genevieve Smith at the Presbyterian church Monday evening. In a most fascinating manner Miss Smith gave the- history of the harp, interspersing her charming story with several selections on the most beautiful instrument ever in Rensselaer. The music was so pleasing that hearty applause followed the rendition of each number and after the program had been completed the guests were so desirous of more that Miss Smith complied with the demand and played several additional selections. It was a very delightful entertainment and Mrs. Hollingsworth was praised for having introduced so delectable an Innovation in Rensselaer.
