James German, who had his left arm broken Thanksgiving day, still/ has it in a cast but the doctor expects to be able to remove that within a few days. Mrs. Milt Roth went to Dayton today, the body of Mr. Roth’s brother being taken through here from Chicago on the 10:55 train. Milt and Sam will go down tomorrow. Isaac Thompson arrived here yesterday from BUiffton, Ohio, and after a short visit here with his brother, S. P. Thompson, will . accompany the latter and his wife to Florida to remain during the winter. A bunch of hunters went out Friday afternoon and brought in 57 rabits and 9 quail. Bunnies are being pursued from all quarters these days and are reported to be quite plentiful. They are selling for 5 cents each. Arthur Lingenfelter, manager of the Rensselaer Garage, went to Kokomo this morning to spend Sunday with his wife. She will probably move here now that he is permanently located. Home-made kraut, 5 cents a quart or 15 cents a gallon, at Rhoades’ Grocery. Newt Pumphrey returned yesterday from a business trip to Monticello. His father, George Pumphrey, has sold the 80 acre farm on which Newt lived for 8115 per acre, the purchaser being Will Crisler, of Mt. Ayr. Tljey will hold a public sale on Jan. 25tfc. > . Mrs. J. C. Porter is doing very nicely at the hospital since her operation ana Mr. Porter and the surgeon are very much encouraged about her condition. Mr. Porter Will go there tomorrow to remain with her during the day. Earle Reynolds came down from Chicago on the early train this morning and returned on the 10:55. He made the trip to see about the work going on in the demolition of the McCoy house, which work Is being done by George Mustard. Earle and wife are now playing the Orpheum circuit, being at the Haymarket this week, at Lincoln, Neb., then at Sioux City, lowa, then at St. Paul. They are booked for several Weeks.
