Mrs. lines Sells Millinery Business to D. M. Carson and Wife.
Mrs. W. J. Imeß, who has been engaged In the millinery business in Rensselaer for the past twenty-one years, has traded her stock in the Arcade Block to D. M. Carson and wife, of Indianapolis, who will shortly take charge. Mr. Carson was formerly a county officer in White county and moved from Monticello about three years ago. Mrs. Imes takes in trade a residence property at 21st street, Riverside, Indianapolis, valued at $4."500. Mr. Imes was in Indianapolis Friday closing up the trade, which had been arranged by" C. P. Wright & Son. Mr. and Mrs. Carson will conduct the business here. Mrs. Imes has been planning for several years to get out of business, and has been urged by her brother in New York to come there to make her residence. It is probable that she and Mr. Imes will make New York their future home.
Mrs. Imes first engaged in the millinery business at Monon 25 yeans ago the first of last month. Four years later she moved here and has since been a leader in millinery styles and conducted the largest millinery store in Rensselaer. The decision to get out of business will meet general regret and especially so if it results in the removal of Mr. and Mrs. Imes from Rensselaer, as it is likely to do.
