Went To Chicago To Consult Cuban Consul About Brother’s Death.

Charles and Eli Arnold went to Chicago this morning to see the Cuban Consul and to secure a letter from him that will be used by Charley in establishing his identity in Omaja, Cuba, when he goes there to ascertain the particulars about the death of their brother, Chris, and to straighten up his business affairs. The letter which Charley received from there was written by Joe Brennan, who -states that he was Chris’s cook. He said that Chris was killed by a runaway mule on the noon of Nov. 24th. They were not at Omaja at the time, -but working at Lunas. The letter asked that one of the brothers come there at once to look after his property. He did own 250 acres of land, but may have sold it. In recent -fetters received by his relatives he seemed homesickand the brothers have been deal about the strange dea£>. It is probable that Charley and probably some other person will Btart there within a few days. They wijl go by the way of Key West and rrtwana. Omaja is about 40 miles from Havana, beihg an inland town. Although spelled Omaja, the name is prohounced as though it w’ere Omaha.
