Henry Thornton Beaten and Robbed at Spokane, Wash.
C. L. Thornton, up till a little more than three’ years ago a resident of Rensselaer, writes from Spokane and sends copies oT Spokane papers,, telling of an assault on his son, Hfenry, ’which almost cost the boy’s life. Henry Is me proprietor of the Peerless Butter Store at Spokane and on the evening of Nov. 27th he was returning through an alley after delivering butter to a customer. He was assaulted and knocked down by a thug, who wielded a sandbag. He was robbed of his purse containing over SIOO. After receiving the. first blow he was able to cry out for help but he was struck again and rendered unconscious and when a man named D. L. Folsom, who heard his cry for help, turned into the alley he saw the rob- , ber bending over the prostrate form. The thug soon rifled the pockets of his victim and made his escape. Henry was taken to Mr. Folsom’s home and it was found that he had suffered a slight concussion of the brain. He was later removed to a hospital and remained unconscious all night. The Spokanesman-Review of Tuesday published Henry’s picture and stated that he was still in a serious condition. His father’s letter prjnted the same day states that he was at that time considered out of danger and he was that day to be removed to bis home.\
