Three Cheers For “Big Ed” Of the Grand Old Team.

In reviewing the football team of the old days on the anniversary of the South Bend game, the Republican said that Ed Moon was the only one of the old team that had fallen a victim of King Alcohol. We are now in receipt of a letter from George M. Robinson, of Connersville, who states that Ed is a resident of Connersville and that he has not touched a drop of liquor for more than a year. This will be good news to the many warm friends of “Big Ed” in the town where he was once a football idol. Ed visited Rensselaer a few years ago when' he was working at Logansport and everything at that time indicated that he was down and out, and that his appetite for strong drink had ruined him. He was a good workman and a fine fellow and his reform will give him an opportunity to make a good citizen and his friends will be gratified that he has overcome his old falling.
