Ernest Rees worked for Ed Oliver Monday. Grandjna Callahan is pretty poorly at this writing. Husking corn is the order of the day. Silas and Bob Toombs are shredding fodder for Ed Oliver this week. Alice Bingham spent Thanksgiving with home folks in Lagrange county. Mrs. John Watson and daughter, Rilla, were Newland callers Monday. Mrs. Rube Snyder went to Gifford Monday to visit her mother for a few days. j " Samuel Rees moved to the house recently vacated by George Beedy and family. Quite a large crowd of young folks attended the fafewell dance at Wm. Kennedy’s Saturday night. Wm. Rees and Claud Bowman went to ditch for Charley Moody, of Pleasant Grove, Monday. Don’t you hear those wedding bells, they sound so familiar to Newland people. John Guard left Tuesday for Chicago, where he will work by the day. the day. Alice Hancock returned home Saturday evening, after several weeks’ working for Ed Randle at Pleasant Grove. There is literary at Gifford every two weeks on Friday nights. They have splendid programs. The next session night is December 3rd.
