Hurley Beam Honored By Winona Technical School.
Hurley Beam, son of Monon Agent W. H. Beam, who is taking the printing and lynotype course at Winona Technical Institute Ih Indianapolis, has received a very fine recognition of his ability, having been chosen as the student representative of the school at a national convention of technical schools which is now in session at Milwaukee, Wis. President Smith, of Winona, was expecting to attend the convention during its entire time but business requirements prevented him getting away from Indianapolis before Friday, so he decided to send a representative and selected a Rensselaer boy, Hurley Beam. Hurley went through Rensselaer Tuesday afternoon and is booked to deliver a lecture before the convention on the value of an industrial education. He is only 21 years of age and the honor is very complimentary of his ability and of the hold that his accomplishments have on the faculty of a college that is attended by about one thousand students.
