Interesting School Statistics Being Compiled in the State.
County School Superintendent Lamson, responding to a request from State Superintendent Robert J. Aley, has compiled some schopl statistics in this county. The statistics show the average age, average salary, number who quit teaching during the past year, and the number who quit on account of age* or disability. The report shows that there are 14 beginning teachers this year, that their average age is 20 and their average daily pay $2.32. The rather peculiar things are noticed in the second and third classes. The second are those who have taught one previous year and their ages average one year more than those who have taught two previous years, being 23 against 22, and they also get more wages, averaging $2.83 against $2.51 for those who have taught two previous terms. There were 24 teachers left the profession the past year, and they had averaged teaching 3 years. Four of these quit teaching on account of disability.
