Pugilist Johnson Calls On Governor Marshall At Indianapolis.
Jack Johnson, the puglist, is at Indianapolis this week and Wednesday called at the state capitol to pay his respects to Gov. Marshall. The governor, however, was not in, and Mark Thistlewaite, pis secretary, entertained the big black battleship. A calendar in the governor’s office reads “If you want to find out who’s boss here start something.” When the secretary saw the champion heavyweight of the world coming ih he turned the calendar to the wall. Johnson was disappointed at not meeting the governor and will make another attempt to see him later in the week.
