Emerson Coen, Former High School Football Star, Injured In Navy.
Emerson Coen, who was one of the best high school football players a few years ago, has been playing a star game for the U. S. battleship, the New Hampshire, and a week Ago last Saturday engaged in a contest with a team from another vessel. There had been considerable rivalry in athletics between the y men of the different ships and Emerson wrote home that a fierce contest was expected. A few days ago a friend of Emerson’s wrote to his mother, Mrs. W. S. Coen, stating that he had received injuries in the game that made it impossible for him to write, the injury being a broken hand. The game resulted in a tie, neither side scoring.
