Mystery Is Solved; ’Twas Shorty Adams at Kaukakee.
Leonard I. Adams, Esq., pleads guilty to being the Rensselaer youth who was reported to have been drugged and robbed at Kankakee. Persons who are not acquainted with this name may be tipped off that Leonard Adams, Esq., is none other than our own “Shorty” Adams. He was taken in charge by the Kankakee police and framed up the robbery story, but says he was not doped, but that it was a plain case of tanglefoot, and that while he was moaning the loss of his money he had sl7 stowed away where some \yomen carry theirs. “Shorty" blew in Friday afternoon and will hesitate but a few hours here, when he expects to head out again in quest of grub and glory. He is breaking for the Three Eye between Kankakee and South Bend.
