First Lecture Number Pleased Audience That Heard It.
The first number of the Epwortb League lecture course was given Thursday night at the M. E. church and attracted a good sized audience. It was very interesting, each of the performers being very clever and receiving so much applause following each number on the program that they were called back again and again. The singing of Miss Kinley was especially pleasing, her voice possessing splendid quality, and the beautiful tones of her voice were shown by the ready grace with which she changed from one selection to another of entirely, different kind. Her distinct enunciation was also a creditable feature of her singing. The reader, Miss Lillian Cochran, also possessed splendid ability in diversified selections and the audience called her back several times, and she l responded gracefully. The violin and cornet soloists also were well received and liberally applauded. The next number of the course will be on Dec. 10th when Rev. E. P. Brown, well known as Ram’e Horn Brown, will deliver one of his famous lectures.
