Indiana Harbor to Have a New Steel Plant Employing 1,000 Men.
Northwestern Indiana continues to boom in the steel industry and Monday it was announced., that Indiana Harbor was to be the home of the Mc-Clintic-Marshall Construction Co., of Pittsburg, manufacturers of structural steel. The land on which a giant structural steel plant is to be erected was purchased of Honore and Potter Palmer, Jr., and consists of 50 acres. The concern expects to have the new esta”blishmdit in readiness for manufacturing and shipping operations within a year. From 1,000 to 1,500 men are to be given employment and the capacity of the plant will be from 60,000 to 70,000 tons of structural uteei annually.
