Wood, Jr., went to Monticello today to attend the funeral of Thos. Robinson, a cousin of Mrs. Murray, who died recently of paralysis at Des Moines, lowa. HORTON, Prop. _Louis F. Lehman, of Francesville, who owns a farm in Hanging Grove township on which his son, Will Lehman, resides, was in Rensselaer a short time on business today. He recently bought two houses in Francesville, which he will rent. Jay W. Stockton is having the room recently vacated by Roth Bros, remodeled and it is rumored that it is to be rented for a drug store, although arrangements for renting the building have not been made. The Davis Stock Co. was to exhibit at Remington all of this week, but after the first performance the public protest was so strong that the management canceled the engagement and cast the bum actors adrift. It was said to be “horrid.” ’“Tempest and Sunshine" was played at Kentland last night by the company that plays here tonight and they had a full house. The company is said to be a good one and the peoplq are nice looking and evidently experienced in the theatrical business. We will have a car load of fancy Michigan apples on track the last of this week. No. 1 Northern Spies, Baldwins, Greenings, and other good varieties, out of car, one dollar a bushel. Laws was joined here today by his wlfe-And mother, who came down from Crown Point, the latter having accompanied her daughter-in-law here to help instal them at housekeeping in the house on Cullen street recently vacated by W. O. Rowles and wife. Miss Nellie Johnson, of Lore City, Ohio, who was. the guest for the past six weeks of Miss Pearl McGee at the home of Mrs. Geo. Kennedy, will leave tomorrow for Buffalo, N. Y., for a short visit before returning to her home. Mrs. Frank Long>. of Chilllcothe, Ohio, who was here to attend the marriage of Miss McGee, expects to return to her home next Sunday.
