OLD RESIDENT DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS.

“Uncle” Stott Grant Succumbs After Many Weeks of Suffering at His Farm Residence West of Town. W. S. Grant, better known as “Uncle” Stott Grant, and who prior to a year ago was a familiar figure on the streets of Rensselaer, died this Wednesday morning at 7 o’clock at his farm residence a mile and a half west of town on the river road. His wife died three years ago on New 9th at the same hour in the morning, and he outlived her just three years and one day. Deceased came to this county about 60 years ago, and was 85 years of age at the time of his death. A complete obituary will be published later. The funeral arrangements had not been completed at noon today, but the funeral will be held some time Friday. Deceased has a large number of relatives here, particularly among the Grant and Warner families.
