GEORGE W. ANDRUS DIES AFTER EXTENDED SICKNESS
Aged and Highly Respected Citizen of Marlon Township Succumbs to Cancer of the Stomach. George W. Andrus, a well 1 a and highly respected citizen. i 1:45 o’clock this Friday nror -*f his farm residence northwest jselaer. He was the victim ot a cancer of the stomach and has been declining for several months. About three months ago an operation was undertaken, but conditions were found to be such that relief was impossible and the operation was not completed. For the past two months he had been confined to his bed, gradually sinking away. Deceased was 76 years of age, and leaves a widow and three children, Jerome and John and Mrs. H. P. Overton. Jerome moved last spring to a farm in Michigan, John resides on his own farm northwest of town and Mrs. Overton resides in Hammond. At his bedside when the end came were his wife, their son John and daughter, Mrs. Overton, and his sister, Mrs. Lyda Walker, of Muskegon, Mich. Deceased came to Jasper county from Michigan 29 years ago, locating in Walker township, where he resided until 15 years ago, when he removed to Marion township. Ho wa* an Industrious, hal'd working man, and held the respect of his neighbors and all with whom he had business dealings.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Trinity M, EL church, and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. L. Harper. Burial wfll be made in Weston cemetery.
