Barnard Will Prosecute Violators of Food Laws Without Warning.
. H. E. Barnard, state food and drug commissioner, announced Thursday that hereafter violators of the Indiana pure food laws will be vigorously prosecuted anywhere throughout the state. The “campaign of education,” he says, has come to an end, and hereafter instead of inspectors from the pure food department giving instructions and telling violators of the law what they ought to do toward bringing about a better condition of affairs, there will be prosecutions. "For two years we have endeavored to educate the people of Indiana and now we are going to do something else.” said Mr. Barnard. “This sisterly love idea of telling the people not to violate the .pure food laws of Indiana can not go on forever, and it is to the best interests of this department for prosecutions to be started.”
