Rensselaer High School Defeated Morocco In a Good Game Saturday.
Saturday’s football game was a fiercely fought contest and the local high school succeeded by plucky playing in defeating Morocco by the score of 19 to 0. Morocco started off like victors and worked the ball down the field to Rensselaer’s 15 yard line. An error of judgment at this point proved very expensive and when the visitors undertook a forward pass, little half back Parks caught the bhll and dodged through a battery of Morocco players and down the field. Several players started out in pursuit but were jostled off by Kirk who carried on some really artistic rear guard interference, and Parks completed a run of 105 yards, and planted the ball between the goal posts. The play not only prevented the Morocco boys from -what seemed a certain touchdown, but also served to turn the tide of defeat to victory and from that time on the black and red players outclassed their rivals. The visitors made several runs of good length and also hit oui line effectively, but their work was never very consistent and they lost repeatedly on forward pass attempts. Clark played a fine game at ehd, while the line was in better shape than during any previous game. Clarence Smith played his first game and was equal to his opponent. Don Beam got through the line several time for good tackles and Casey was. also strong in this department of the game. Wartena, Kirk and Parks make a good back field and “Midget” Haas played a good game at quarter, tackling with accuracy in the defensive field. A little hard work now will put the boys in good condition for the final games of the season. No game is scheduled for next Saturday. Lowell Is to be here on Thanksgiving day. Two of the Morocco 'players, Gaylord Chissom and John Lane, -were-
considerably injured during the contest, the former having his neck and right knee injured and the latter being hurt in the back. Both were able to make the trip home, however, in the late evening.
