CHANCE FOR FACTORY AND A FINE PROPOSITION.
Rensselaer Citizen Will Start Overall and Shirt Industry If Commercial Club Will Help. B. -J. Moore has been investigating th’e overall and shirt factory industries and giving considerable thought to the starting of a factory in this city, provided he can receive some financial assistance from the commercial club. Mr. Moore came to Rensselaer from Monon four years ago and took up the work of drilling and blasting out the rock in the river bed of the Iroquois. He has become acquainted with our people and they have become acquainted with him and it is safe to say that no man has come to this city in recent years who has gained a firmer hold on the admiration of our people than B. J. MOOre. He is a good manager, a willing worker, a careful business man, and possesses the requirements of a successful factory head. The writer has long thought that a factory of this kind would be the very best thing for Rensselaer. It would employ women and girls at fair wages and give some employment to a few men and there would be an opportunity for its, growth and development. Mr. Moore is willing to invest his own money in the business, but will ask and should receive assistance from the commercial club. *He expects to visit the factory at Brook and factories at other places within a short time and to then make a definite propositipn to the commercial club. He has a location selected for the erection of a plant, and the ground could probably be purchased at a reasonable figure. This is an .opportunity that Rensselaer should not let go by. Mr. Moore has practically completed his river work and will either get into some business or be compelled to leave Rensselaer. It is to be hoped that himself and family will remain here and he will certainly be accorded favorable consideration by the commercial club in the starting of a factory.
