Jasper County Sunday School Convention Was Poorly Attended.
Are people too busy to spare a day for Sunday school' work ? This is a question that was silently pondered over by the few who attended the county Sunday school convention held at the Christian church Tuesday. Apparently very few people in the county knew that there was to be a convention, and when an auto load arrived here from Remington they found no one at the church and no preparation for their entertainment. In the afternoon a few more arrived but the total attendance was only twenty-six and something was wrong, for even the preachers of the town did not all. get there and some of the Sunday schools of the town were not represented. The program was carried out but there was very little enthusiasm. Arthur Waymire, of Barkley township, was elected president; Mr. Johnson, of Remington, vice-president, and B.'D. Comer, of Union township, secretary. The place of holding next year’s convention will be determined later. It is the intention to hold township conventions shortly.
