Woman Who Attempted Suicide Will Probably Recover.
Mrs. Glenn Overley, that being the correct name instead of Mrs. John Oberly, the young woman who tried to kill herself early Monday morning, is still in quite a serious condition. She swallowed about a half ounce of carbolic acid and her throat was badly burned. Her kidneys were somewhat poisoned also and she still has some fever, but indications, are favorable for her recovery. She alleged that her husband was drunk when he came home Sunday night but he denies this, although he admits that he drank some beer and later a little whiskey on the train as he came home. His mother is married to a man named Smith and he and his 'step-father played cards at his home after he came back from his day’s work. He is generally considered to be a very good man, however, and works industriously and pays his debts. His wife’s maiden name was Gant and her home at Francesville. Her mother is here now caring for her and she will probably be up within a few days.
