Man and Wife Go Hunting; Boat Capsizes and She Drowns.

An all-night search for the body of Mrs. Herman S. Dresden, who was drowned late Wednesday ita Hudson Lake, Laporte county, proved futile. sMrs. Dresden went down in forty feet of water. Dresden, who Is the landlord of the hotel at New Carlisle, and his wife, went hunting on the lake in a skeleton metal boat. The lake was rough. Suddenly one high wave almost engulfed the boat.. Mrs. Dresden jumped back, the boat careeped and filled with water and sapk. Dresden, who is a good swimmer, seized his wife, who could not swim, and held her until the boat came up and then both hung to the small craft. For ten minutes they supported themselves in that way, Dresden calling for help. Finally Mrs. Dresden, .who weighed 200 pounds, let go and went down. The husband brought her to the surface, where he supported her for ten minutes more. By that time the man had shown his Wife how to keep her head above water by floating, and he, feeling confident Bhe would be able to do it while he swam for the boat, which had floated away, he let go. He reached the boat and was swimming back with it when the woman sank. Dresden made several dives for her but could not find her. In the meantime people at a summer resort had heard the eries for help and reached the scene after the woman had gone down.
