Robert A Yeoman experimented this summer with some California wheat. He had a small spot in his garden after completing his spring planting and on June lßt he planted some California wheat seed, which had been given him by some Texas land agents. The wheat came up much like corn, .but the grain is on the tassel which at first glance looks very much like an oats head. The heads are very heavy with grain and it ia claimed that from 75 to 80 bushels are raised to the acre and that the price is 80 cents per bushel. The grain somewhat resembles wheat and is used in the preparation of breakfast foods. The fodder is fine for feeding and Mr. Yeoman thinks it could be grown profitably here.
