Darn a Newspaper Man Anyhow.

A county superintendent of a neighboring county asked every teach* er at the county institute who took their local or county paper to hold up their hands and only six responded. The superintendent expressed great surprise and said: “You don’t spend a dollar a year with those papers, yet you expect them to print free of charge notices of all institutes, insert long programs, expect them to advertise you, thus assisting you to climb the ladder to better positions and better salaries, without a cent in return."
