Not Revenge But Consolation For Our Checker Players.

Several Rensselaer checker, players, who recently got a decisive beating at Kentland engaged in a contest with James M. Mcßeth, of Monticello, Friday evening. Mr. Mcßeth was formerly the best checker player in‘White county and probably in this section of Indiana, but that was a long time ago, and of recent years he has not played any, although about four years ago he was able to hold the local players even at least. Friday night, however, our players found him very easy, and in 19 games with Thomas he succeeded in getting only two, and his per cent was about the same with McFarland. It was some consolation to the locals who were chafing somewhat frojn their recent drubbing at Kentland.
