Purdue University Fires Its Well Known Football Conch.

After prelonged sessions of the athletic association Friday, during which time President Stone and others high in the councils of Purdue University were called in for council, It was decided to ask Frederick Speik, coach of the football team to resign, and he did so, being allowed his full salary. Lack of tact in the management of the team, poor discipline with the players and the, poor work accomplished by the team in the games so far played this year were the causes assigned for getting rid of him. Speik is a doctor, practicing in the Cook county hospital at Chicago, and has been going to Purdue each fall on a three months’ leave of absence.
