Earl Duvall, the clothing merchant who was nominated by the democrats last Friday night for city treasurer, and who was half inclined to declinA the nomination, has decided to inake* the race, and gives notice of his intention In this Issue of the Republican. Earl is one of the hustling young business men of Rensselaer and one of the very best advertisers and Inherits his politics from a long line of democratic ancestry. His qualifications are unquestioned, and if he wants the office and can get enough votes to get it, he would probably give it the care it requires, even at an expense to his business. The only trouble we can find with him is that he got on the wrong ticket.
