Mary Rees spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mrs. Samuel Rees and family. , Ed Oliver had to go to Kersey to get repairs for his potato digger. It seems to cause him a great deal of trouble. He returned'"home Saturday evening. George, Sam and Zella Bowen, Newt Kaupke, John Marion and Newt Bowman and family attended the horse show at Rensselaer Saturday; Wm. Rees is working in the railroad shop at Kersey. B. J. Gifford, Frank Lewis, T. M. Callahan and some bankers were looking over the former’s railroad and seeing how they were getting along at McCoysburg. Mr. Gifford has his two steam shovels and dry land dredge at work there. ... —— Ernest Rees took dlniler with Sam and George Bowen Sunday. Nettie Jordan, the trained nurse, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Jordan, of near Newland. Wm. Kennedy called on John and Will Guard Saturday evening. _ Mary Rees was In Pleasant Grove Friday on business. Art and Thomas Kennedy helped Ed Oliver dig potatoes last week. Newt and Claude Bowman also helped him in the same work. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Miller, of near Lewiston, Newt Kaupke and Alice Bingam spent Sunday with John Bowen and family. Dan Snyder and wife were called to the bedside of his brother, Jim Snyder, of Laura, Friday afternoon, who died Saturday evening at seven o’clock. Pneumonia was the cause of his death. George Johnson and Tom Callahan were Medaryville callers Friday evening. Mrs. Bell and Lola Oliver spent Sunday with George Houser and family, near Wheatfleld. Mrs. Oliver’s sister is visiting Mr. Houser. She lives in Illinois. Day Jordan, who is teaching at Independence this year, is getting along nicely with her school there. Jess Nuss and family spent Sunday with Dan Snyder and family. Tom Callahan attended church in Rensselaer Sunday. Sam Bowen Is working for Mr. Hobbs at Kersey. Alice Bingham spent Thursday night with Ethel Walker.
