The Panhandle railroad at Logansport had the biggest pay day in its history at Logansport this week, more men being employed than at any previous time. * The Standard Steel Co., in Hammond, now has 1,800 men at work and within the next, month expect to employ '1,200 more, making a total of 3,000. The American Bridge Co. wUI at once start qn the erection of its new plant at Gary, employing 2,000 men.
