Pays Subscription To Republican Ten Years In Advance.

Dr. J. A. Overton, of Tuscola, 111., who was born and raised in Jasper county and best known among his old friends as Albert Overton, is now the paid in advance subscriber to the Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican. In a letter received from him this morning he says "Dear Boys: Enclosed find a draft for which please send me the Republican for the next ten years. When we are homesick out here we sleep with the current issue of the Republican under our pillow. “Emmet Fidler called on us this week and reported everything A 1 back home. Things are on the upgrade here all right. Land selling for S2OO to $225 per acre and broom corn reached above S2OO per ton.” Prior to this time our old friend Tom J. Sayler, of Lamar, Colo., was our farthest paid in front subscriber. Dr. Overton is practicing osteopathy at Tuscola and succeeding abundantly.
