Banker Coplen Compromises For “Broken Heart” Out of Court

James H. Coplen, the Flora banker, who was sued for $15,000 damages for breach of promise .by bis house keeper, has compromised out of court. Tbe Hoosier Democrat of that place says for a “small sqm” and, the Delphi Herald comments: “Just what constitutes a small sum for a banker the Democrat very cleverly failed to mention, and it also failed to state how much poor girls sell broken hearts for in Flora. It is rumored here that Coplen said he would spend $: 0,000 for defense, but not one cent for tribute. An old saying is that wise men often change their minds.”
