Hammond Business Association Boycotts the Monon Railroad.
The Hammond Business Men’s Association at a meeting held Thursday night .bitterly arraigned the Monon railroad for its unsightly depot and began plans to systematically boycott the road. All business men will be urged to send their freight by some other road, and passengers will be asked to travel any other way except by the Monon. The Monon has an ideal location in Hammond and the civic pride of the city is incensed at the deplorable old depot The Monon railroad is not renowned for its fine depots, and when Hammond comes in for a new one, Rensselaer should also, but we have no thought of entering into a boycott, not, at least until George Infield has his interurban working.
