Rensselaer Won From Brook In Comedy Ball Game Friday.
The ball game was rather* wobbly on the partTof Brook Friday and several of the Brook players who are usually quite good in the field and with the stick were a trifle the worse for their long trip through the cold and had evidently been unable to answer negatively when asked to partake of a warming quaff. In consequence the ball game was very much of a joke. Corbett pitched well for the visitors but was given poor support and the visitors could not connect with the slants that left handed Johnnie Hanks was putting their way.Kepner and Parks, who have been out of the game most of the time lately were used and showed up very well. Kepner accepted his only chance’ in left and made a timely hit, and also stole two bases. In Thursday’s game Kepner hit a good sacrifice fly to deep left field, scoring a runner from third. The final score was Rensselaer 4, Brook 0. This was the same score as the Medaryville game the day before. The Bunday before the Wrens defeated the St. Lawrence team from Lafayette by the score of 7 to 0, so the season wound up with three shutouts, Hanks working in all of them.
