TWO DIPHTHERIA CASES ARE UNDER QUARANTINE
Son of D. E. Tunner and Son of His Housekeeper Have the Disease But No Spread Is Probable. The 14-year-old son of D. E. Tanner, who attends the Rensselaer schools, was taken sick last week and kept out of school. His ailment was not diagnosed as diphtheria until Sunday, when a quarantine was established at the Tanner home, which is on the Thompson farm, east of town. Monday evening, Claude Keller, son of Mrs. Margaret Keller, who keeps house for Mr. Tanner, was taken sick with the disease and the following morning anti-toxin was administered to him. The case of the Tanner boy wa» too far advanced for the use of antitoxin, and he is apparently recovering from the sickness. Spread of the disease is improbable, as the health officer has taken every precaution, and it is thought that neither boy was in school during a period when they might have given the disease to others.
