Davis and Mrs. Eva Buhring returned to Hammond yesterday, after a visit here with W. F. Frye and family. John Sullivan went to Lebanon today to attend a reunion of the 15th Indiana regiment. W. F. Powers and wife will go tomorrow.

George Bradley, of near Indianapolis, and Joseph Bradley, of near Ladoga, came yesterday to visit their niece, Mrs. J. M. Torbett, and family, of Barkley township. Mrs. Wesley Williams has purchased of G. F. Meyers, the five-acre tract known as the Stott Grant farm, which she and her husband will occupy some time this winter. There will be services Sunday, Oct. 17th, at the German Lutheran church in Union township, of which further announcement will be made in these columns next week. Mayor Ellis and D. M. Worland secured the Delphi merry-go-round for the horse show while at Delphi Tuesday and also one good outside attraction. The party given Tuesday at the home of Mrs. J. W. Medicus’ was given jointly by Mrs. Medicus and Mrs. W. J. Imes, our reporter having made a mistake in mentioning the name of Mrs. Medicus only. Chas. Jacks, the barber, was in town a short time yesterday, on his way to Lye from a visit with his wife’s at Tfpton. He expects to go to work Saturday in a Monticello barbershop; Miss Lizzie Cheesman, of Lafayette,, came yesterday to visit Mrs. Roy Cheesman, of West Point, who has been visiting her parents here for several days. Both left today for their homes. Scott R. Chestnut, who is working in the Buick automobile factory at Flintt, Mich., is home for a few days, owing to the sicknes of his father, Thos. O. Chestnut. Scott is working at motor construction, and is fast becoming an expert automobile workman.
