Petitioners Lose In Newton Township Road Straightening Case.
The petitioners in the Newton township road straightening case, which was tried in White county on change of venue from this county, lost out. The jury retired Wednesday noon and were not out very long, bringing in a verdict for the defendants. Benton Kelley and Robert Yeoman had petitioned to have the road straightened, and many other land owners objected. The case occupied the attention of the court for six days. The petitioners were defeated, it would seem, at every turn of the road and there are plenty of turns, but it is probable that ' they will never be straightened.
