Obituary Of the Life Of Mrs. Frederica Fendig.
Frederica Rubel was born in Bavaria, Germany, in 1842, and came to America twenty years later, -locating in Lewiston, Maine, making her home with her brother. Later she moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where she was married in March; 1866, to Ralph Fendig. They moved to Chicago, where two children, Tillie and Benjamin, were born. They later came to Rensselaer, where four more sons were born, and all but one, the youngest, which died in infancy, still survive. She has -made Rensselaer her residence since that time and her husband was for many years engaged in the mercantile business in this city. Her death occurred in the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago last Saturday, Oct. 2, 1909, at the age of 67 years.
She leaves five children,.viz: Mrs. Tillie Borchardt, of Tampa, Fla.; Albert, of Brunswick, Ga.; Louis R., of Jacksonville, Fla., and Benjamin F. and Samuel, of Rensselaer. Also three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Hexter and Mrs. Johanna Oppenheimer, of New Orleans, La., and Mrs. Nathan Fendig, of Rensselaer. Deceased was a good woman, and held the admiration of all those who knew her throughout her long years of residence tn this city. She was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star of this city.
