' . ■ ( ' Mr. Zimmerman, a representative of the largest cloak and suit houses, will be here Friday and Saturday, October Ist and 2nd, at the opening, with the finest line and lowest prices, at the closing out of the Forsythe Store. , The annual conference of the JEhurch of God for Indiana is being held in Rensselaer, beginning with a meeting at the church this evening and continuing over Sunday. It is probable that about .thirty ministers and delegates will be present.
Millinery, Cloak and Suit Opening Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 30 and October 1 and 2. Mr. Schrann, the popular cloak and suit man, will be here on Friday, Oct. 1, with a full line of cloaks and suits. Rowles & Parker. Mrs. Philip Lagen, of Joliet, 111., is visiting her father. Nelson Randle, and her sister, Mrs. J. N. Leatherman, and will remain here for some time, while her husband completes the removal of their household goods to Custer, S. Dak., to which place they are removing for the benefit of his health.
Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Laßue had been married twenty years Wednesday of this week and that evening a number of their friends headed by his brother, A. S., went to their home and gave them a pleasant surprise. Preparatory to his next morning’s trip to Roselawn, Mel had gone to bed, but it didn’t take long to pull him out, and a very pleasant evening was passed.
The arrangements were all completed yesterday with Traveling Passenger Agent Priest for the special train to Oxford Sunday, and over 100 signed the paper for tickets within a few hours. It is thought that more than 200 will take the trip. The train will leave here at 10 o’clock Sunday morning, and the schedule is published elsewhere in, an advertisement for the Monon.
Frank Haskell completed the removal of his barber shop into the new Horton building yesterday, and was doing business at the new stand most of the day. His plumbing is not all completed, but when it is done he will have one of the best looking barber shops that was ever in Rensselaer, and make a creditable appearance alongside his other very stylish looking neighbors, Roth Bros, and Perry Horton.
