Dave Spriggs went to Shelby Thursday. T. M. Callahan called on Ed Oliver Friday. | Mrs. Wm. Rees went to Pleasant Grove Friday. Miss Alice Bingam is getting along nicely with her school at Newland, and is well liked by all the patrons. Ernest and Mary Rees called on Floyd and Fred Tow and Lola Oliver Thursday evening. Several hauled sand on the Gifford road last week. This is making a

great improvement to this country. Miss Alice Hancock, of near Gifford, spent Saturday night and Sunday with Miss Zella Bowen. Mr. and Mrs. Rube Snyder moved to Newland last week to the house vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Alva Blackman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Messenger returned to their home in Chicago Monday, after several days’ visit here with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Martin, and family.
