CITY TAX LEVY PLACED SAME AS LAST YEAR.
i Special School Fund Reduced Ten Cents and Road Fund Increased Ten Cents on the SIOO. At the regular meeting of the city council Monday evening, at which atl members were present, the tax levy for the coming year was fixed at $1.90, the same as last year. The levy for the special school fund was reduced 10 cents on the SIOO, but the road fund was increased from 20 to 30 cents. The levy is as follows: Road fund. 30 Corporation fund 40 Public library fund .10 Water works fund .15 Electric light fund 10 Special school fund 40 Tuition fund .. 45 Total $1.90 The contract for the improvement of Washington street was approved, and the city marshal was instructed to superintend the improvement and see that it is made according to contract. The city attorney was instructed to prepare the necessary resolution for the opening of the alley through block 15. This is the alley that will run through the Makeeyer House property. The light superintendent was instructed to extend a light line to the residences St Frank Haskell and Chas. Malchow, they to pay the cost of said line not exceeding SSO, Which will be applied as light rent. The city attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution for a sidewalk in front of lots 7 and 8, in block 7, South addition.
The light superintendent was instructed to purchase a car load of poles for the use of the city. Landy Magee was awarded the contract for painting the water tower. His bid was $75, which does not include the paint, w’hich the city is to furnish. The following claims were allowed: —Corporation Fund— W. S. Parks, salary marshal... .$30.00 E. M.
