Toy Balloon Makes 200 Mile Flight; Is Found At Lowell.

Lowell Tribune. Last Friday morning Peter Stanley picked up in front of his house a toy balloon that was still inflated. For distance and endurance this balloon can r.uccessfully compete with a majority of the air ships. The following note was attached to the balloon: “If you find this write me. Was sent up from Galena fair, Galena, 111. Ad dress, M. I. Michaels, Fennimore, Wis.” This would indicate that the little balloon had traveled from Galena, 111., to L'.wi 11, a distance of nearly 200 miles. No date is given as to when the balloon was sent up but in all probahilily It came the entire distance In one day, as the night air was probably what brought it to the ground. Mr. Stanley immediately wrote Mr. Michaels that the balloon had been found by him.
