C. W. Coen Planning To Leave Rensselaer.
Chas. W. Coen, senior member of the grain elevator firm of Coen & Brady, has purchased an interest in the Merchants National Bank of South Bend, of which Joseph Paxton, a former Rensselaer man is a director, and will move there some time this winter or in the early spring and become an officer of the bank. He will sell his interest in the elevator, but no deal has so far been consummated. Mr. Coen has for years been one of the leading business men of this city, and has served for some years as a member of the school board. His decision to leave here will meet general regret, for his citizenship can never be replaced. Mr. Coen is at present at South Bend and could not be interviewed, but it is understood that his son, Delos, who is now working in a Chicago bank, is to also become identified with the bank in which his father buys an interest. ,
