The fact of the case are as is shown by the U. S. weather report that it has not been as hot in Macon, Miss., in the last five years by five degrees as at Rensselaer, yet their summers are long and the temperature is often high. Alfalfa requires it to do its best. There are plenty of shade trees, ice has the same effect there as here and is considerable cheaper. Plenty of faithful workers can be cheaply employed to do both the field and house work. Poultry and dairy products bring about the same price as here.
